AED HeartSine Samaritan Defibrillator 350P
or 4 fortnightly payments of $493.90 with More info
The Heartsine Samaritan 350P has all the features of the 500P except for the CPR advisor technology. This public access defibrillator has a 10 year warranty and a unique combined battery and pad-pack with a 4 year life from date of manufacturer. After an event, the complete pad-pak is replaced, which means you have a brand new battery for the next event. This is the more cost effective than many other devices with expensive so-called long life batteries, when costed over the life of the device.
In making a decision as to which Automated External Defibrillator (AED) to purchase, you need to carefully consider the 4 links in the internationally accepted chain of survival – otherwise your investment might be an unwise one. These links are:
1. Early Access – (i.e. someone has to be there to help)
2. Early CPR
3. Early Defibrillation
4. Early Advanced Care – (i.e. the victim needs to receive hospitalisation).
Investing in an AED is a great step forward, because it can increase the chance of survival for witnessed Cardiac Arrest from 5% to 85% – when combined with the other links in the chain of survival.
Machine Maintenance :
The Machine :
Annually : SELF CHECK. The machines can get dusty, even in the cabinets so it’s a good idea to dust them off and open the case to check everything is clean and no spiders/wasps/dirt have found its way inside. Check that the pad packs are still sealed and check the EXPIRY dates on the pad packs and that they are still in date.
Every 4 to 5 years : We can service the AEDs for you for $99. This includes checking all the relevant functions and testing with test pads, that the machine is prompting, registering and shocking. We do have call-out depending on which town/city you are in (or you can send them to us, and we’ll send it back).
Machine self check : The AED’s do self-tests every week (automated), so they have a light flashing green. If ever that light flashes red, you’ll need to have the AED seen to (very rare that this happens, usually after a fall or the pack is not put in correctly).
The Pad Packs :
These currently last around 4 to 5 years (there will be an expiry date blue sticker on the pack itself). After the expiry date, you need to replace these. They are around $110 to replace both. When sending a replacement, we’ll send a self-addressed envelope that you can use to return the old packs to us to dispose of with the relevant medical waste facilities.
Our 350P AEDs have a 18 year warranty.
